Resources

The Purdue Online Writing Lab: A great resource for all things related to writing in college.

The Punctuation Guide: A nice interface for navigating how different kinds of punctuation tend to work in written English.

The BC Learning Center:
The Learning Center provides free tutoring in courses across the curriculum. Students can get help at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to outlining, to composing, to proofreading. I highly recommend a visit to the Learning Center, and may encourage it in this class. For more information, go to http://lc.brooklyn.cuny.edu, call 718-951-5821, or email [email protected].

Oxford English Dictionary: Brooklyn Library has access to the database of the Oxford English Dictionary, which is accepted as the most complete record of the English language ever assembled. Unlike typical language dictionaries, which only define words in terms of their current uses and meanings, the OED is a historical dictionary.

Open Source Typeface: If you want to spice up your writing/presentation slides.
