What I found interesting in the texts is the initial description of what commerce means. I especially liked how in the second chapter text it gave in depth examples and real-world examples of what commerce is before it is actually established as commerce. I also found it interesting how they noted that animals don’t necessarily have their own way of doing commerce leading it to specifically be a human quality and why it is that way. As I was reading the texts I thought about the way I participate in commerce and comparing the two I see how similar the concepts are. Personally, I shop a lot so when it comes to understanding the “I get this for me giving you that” concept it applies all the time without too much thought behind it. Commerce is something that has now become a part of everyday life and cause people to not look deeply into the principles of it. Commerce in this century feels like a dead word but has many replacements that all relate to its original concept. Some people may not even know the word but can probably understand what it is if there was a visual representation of it.
